Inspired by: Blue and Green Florals

Happy almost summer! Does it bother you when people start saying things like “happy summer” before the official start date? I’m fine with it as long as it’s within a reasonable time frame. Saying happy summer right now? I get it. Saying happy summer back in May? Negative. Living in Florida, as soon as the weather warms up (so, February), people tend to break out the “it’s summertime!” Facebook statuses. No, people. Don’t care if it’s 94 degrees, April is springtime, dang it.

With summer quickly upon us, I’ve been drawn to light, bright airy decor and fashion. That’s looking like lots of florals, sun dresses, and greens and blues. I’ve never been one to rotate my decor seasonally (excluding holiday decorations), but it’s something I’ve thought about incorporating into my home. If that’s not a sign that I’m a real, bonafide adult, I don’t know what it is. I doubt I’ll do it this year since we’re still renovating our second story, but perhaps I will in the coming year when we’re done shuffling rooms (and contractors are forever barred from entering my home).

Since I won’t be purchasing seasonal decor this year, I thought it would be fun to do it virtually. Below are two different summery vignettes I’ve been drawn to as of late. I curated looks, both home decor and fashion, inspired by them. Happy {almost} summer!

  10. Scarf – The tassels make the scarf.
  11. Curtain Panels – Do people change their drapery by the season? I don’t think so, but maybe we should start the movement.
