Rustic Farmhouse Living Room

Get the Look: Rustic Farhmhouse Living Room »

Every time I see this rustic farmhouse living room by Groves & Co. I get chills.  That’s a bit dramatic but this space is just absolute perfection.  I knew I wanted to start this blog off with a bang, and no space is more bang and intro worthy than this.  The beams, the stone, the rug, the capiz chandelier, I can’t pick a favorite element.  Each item on its own is divine, but together they richly harmonize in concert.  The rustic, natural feel of the space is warm, cozy, and inviting.  I can picture many good conversations (probably about how beautiful the house is) happening in those chairs.

  1.  Striped rug – Striped rugs work in almost any setting and with most styles.
  2. Painting – Don’t live in the mountains?  Don’t have lodge style beams in your home?  Bring a touch of mountain whimsy via artwork by framing up a Bierstadt print.
  3. Coffee table – Target’s Threshold line consistently nails it.  This coffee table emulates the circular coffee table above and looks mighty fine doing it.  It also has a matching end table.
  4. Floor lamp – One of these days I will own a tripod floor lamp like this.  It brings the eye up just enough and adds [another] touch of warmth.
  5. Chair – Comfy chair for ogling over this rustic farmhouse living room.  This pillow would look perfect nestled on it.
  6. Tufted leather bench – Every home needs a bench.  Perfect in an entryway for removing shoes (so no one dirties up the rug…don’t care if that’s the point of rugs.)
  7. Light – This light!  I think this light might actually make the space for me.  I doubt it gives off a ton of light, but capiz adds relaxed glamour to any space it graces.  *sigh*
  8. Side table – I’ve contemplated buying this so many times.  It’d be a great conversation piece for all my introverts out there.
  9. Coasters – We should establish right now that I’m all about unique coasters.  Don’t have a huge stone fireplace?  No worries!  Buy some stones to set your drinks on.  Same, same.
